Top 7 Telegram Search Bots Tested in 2026: Channels, Groups & Content
Finding something on Telegram sounds simple until you know roughly what you are looking for but not where it was posted.
You might be trying to find a Telegram channel about AI tools, a developer group, an old post mentioning a specific product, or a few active communities around a niche topic. Telegram's own search can handle a lot of this now, but third party search bots use their own indexes and databases, so the results can be quite different.
I tested several Telegram search bots using the same kinds of searches I would actually run during research: broad topics, long tail keywords, channel discovery, group discovery, and searches for specific posts or content.
The main thing I found is that there is no single search bot that works exactly the same way as another. Some are better suited to finding channels, some expose larger searchable databases, and others are more useful when you already know roughly what the content should be.
Quick note: Telegram introduced global public post search in 2025, so you do not necessarily need a third party bot for every search. These bots are most useful when you want another index, more discovery options, or a different way to search public Telegram communities.
How Telegram Search Works in 2026
The official Telegram client now has a Posts search tab for finding relevant results from public channels. Telegram's API also provides global message search, with options to restrict results to channels or groups.

Third party search bots work differently. They may maintain their own index of public channels, groups, bots, or posts. That means two search tools can return completely different results for the same keyword.
In practice, there are three types of Telegram search:
▸ Native Telegram search: Useful for searching within Telegram and public posts.
▸ Search bots: Useful for discovering public channels, groups, bots, and indexed content.
▸ Telegram search databases: Useful when you need larger indexes, filters, historical posts, or channel-level data.
That distinction matters when comparing the tools below. A bot with a huge channel database is not automatically better at finding a specific post, and a bot that is excellent at channel discovery may not be useful for group searches.
How We Tested Telegram Search Bots
I did not judge these bots from their descriptions alone. I used the same basic search workflow across the tools and looked at what actually happened after entering a query.
The searches included broad topics such as AI tools and digital marketing, more specific queries such as Telegram API developers, and searches where the goal was simply to discover an active channel or group.
I also paid attention to the annoying details. How many clicks does it take to get to a result? Does the result actually open? Does the bot clearly distinguish channels from groups? Are results duplicated? Is there a useful preview before joining a community?

Telegram Search Bots vs. Telegram's Built-in Search
This is the comparison I would pay the most attention to before choosing a search bot. Telegram itself is much more capable than it used to be.
Since the 2025 Public Post Search update, Telegram has a dedicated Posts tab for finding relevant posts from public channels. The API also supports global message search and filters for channels and groups.
| Search method | What it is good at | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Telegram native search | Searching Telegram directly and finding public posts | Results are tied to Telegram's own search experience |
| Search bots | Channel, group, bot, and content discovery | Each bot uses its own index and coverage |
| Telegram search databases | Large indexes, historical posts, filters, channel research | May require an account, subscription, or credits |
For example, if I already know the name of a channel, I would start with Telegram itself. If I am trying to discover new communities around a broad topic, a search bot can give me another set of results. If I need to investigate how often a keyword appeared across thousands of posts, a dedicated Telegram search database makes more sense.
Telegram Search Databases Worth Knowing
Not every useful Telegram search tool is a bot. Two web based services are particularly relevant if your searches go beyond simple channel discovery.
TGStat
TGStat is much closer to a Telegram search and analytics database than a normal search bot. Its current search page lists roughly 2.87 million channels, 290,000 groups, and 64.69 billion posts, with more than 37 million new posts added in the previous 24 hours.
It also supports morphological search, extended query syntax, source filters, language and geography filters, and other channel or post level filters.
That makes TGStat particularly useful when the question is not simply “Where is this Telegram channel?” but “Where and how often is this topic being discussed?”

TG.ME
TG.ME takes another approach by putting public Telegram content directly into a web interface. Its current site lists more than 12.9 million channels, around 373,000 bots, and more than 223 million archived posts.
You can search channels by name or topic and search posts by text without opening the Telegram app. It also provides channel statistics and other information that is not normally part of a basic search bot.
I would treat TG.ME as a Telegram search engine, not a Telegram search bot, but it is useful enough to include when comparing the wider search ecosystem.
How to Choose a Telegram Search Bot
The easiest mistake is choosing a bot because it claims to have the largest database. That number is useful, but it does not tell you whether the bot is good at the search you actually need.
1. Decide What You Are Trying to Find
Start with the object, not the tool.
▸ A channel: Try Searchee, Super, TgDB, or Telegram's native search.
▸ A group: General search bots such as Super, Search Bot, oSearchBot, or TgDB are more relevant.
▸ A post: Start with Telegram's public post search, then try a content focused index such as MotherSearch or TGStat.
▸ A topic: Semantic search such as Semagram can be useful when you do not know the exact wording used by a channel.
2. Try the Same Keyword in More Than One Tool
Suppose you are researching AI automation. Search the exact phrase in Telegram, then run the same query through two or three search bots.
You may get a completely different mix of results. One tool may surface large channels, another may find smaller groups, while a semantic search engine may return channels that never use the exact phrase in their name.
That difference is not necessarily an error. It is often a consequence of different indexes and ranking systems.
3. Check Whether the Result Is Still Active
Before joining a channel or group, open it and check the recent posts. Look at posting frequency, recent engagement, subscriber or member count, and whether the content still matches what you searched for.
This matters because third party indexes can contain older or inactive communities. TGStat, for example, provides filters related to activity and channel statistics, which can make this part of the research easier.
Managing Telegram Bots and Multiple Telegram Accounts with BitBrowser
If you manage multiple Telegram accounts for several projects, you may end up switching between different accounts, channels, and bots throughout the day. Keeping them in separate browser windows can get confusing quickly.
A simple setup with BitBrowser is:
▸ Create one browser profile for each Telegram account.

▸ Open Telegram Web in the corresponding profile.
▸ Keep your bot-testing account separate from your main account.
▸ Give each profile a clear name, such as TG Support, TG Bot Test, or TG Client 01.

This way, when you need to test a bot, check a channel, or reply to messages, you can open the right profile instead of logging in and out of different accounts. BitBrowser provides separate browser profiles for this kind of multi-account workflow.

If you work with a team, you can also share specific browser profiles with teammates instead of sharing the whole account setup.
If you want to manage multiple Telegram clients on the same computer instead of using the web version, you can use BitCloudPC to securely isolate your accounts.
Telegram Search Bot FAQ
Is there an official Telegram search bot?
Telegram provides its own built in search rather than requiring an official search bot. Since 2025, Telegram has also supported global public post search through the Posts tab.
Can Telegram search find public channels?
Yes. Telegram's global search can search across public content, and its API supports global searches with channel and group filters.
Are Telegram search bots free?
Many basic search bots can be used directly through Telegram without a traditional subscription. However, some larger search databases use credits, subscriptions, or paid plans for advanced searches and larger result sets.
Why do two Telegram search bots show different results?
Third party search bots do not necessarily use the same index. They can differ in the channels, groups, posts, languages, ranking systems, and update frequency they support.
Can I search Telegram posts without joining a channel?
Public posts can be discovered through Telegram's public post search and through some third party search services. Private chats and private groups are a different matter and should not be treated as part of public search indexes.
Which Telegram search bot should I use?
It depends on the search. For broad discovery, try a general search bot such as Super or oSearchBot. For channel discovery, Searchee is more focused. For database driven research, TgDB or a dedicated search platform such as TGStat can be more useful. For semantic topic discovery, Semagram takes a different approach.
